***The dreams we see and the desires we aspire are always special to us. The fear of them getting lost amidst the realities of the outer world always scares us. The scary feeling also emanates from those dreams and desires who firmly feel that the heart remains their only solace for getting saved from extinction in the real world.***
~~~ Poem in Hindi ~~~
कल रात फिर कुछ ख्वाबो ने
कच्ची नींद की चादर हटा कर
दिल के दरवाज़े पर
एक हलकी सी दस्तक दी
दूर देश से वो ख्वाब सारे
कुछ डरे, कुछ सहमे कुछ अलसाये
जाने किस एहसास से थे
थोड़े थोड़े वो घबराये
मंज़िल अपनी तलाशते
कुछ अधूरे ख़्याल तराशते
धीरे धीरे हौले हौले
मेरे दिल की दहलीज पे आकर ठहरे
दिल ने उनको सहलाया
लाड और प्यार से बैठाया
बोला किस धाम से हो आये
कैसे किस काम से हो आये
कुछ मुझको भी बतलाओ
अपने आने का कुछ तो, मुझको भी सबब समझाओ
बोले ख्वाब दूर देस से आये
उम्मीद की लौ मन में जलाये
है मुक्कम्मल वजूद की आस लिए
कुछ अरमां मन में साथ लिए
वो देस बड़ा निर्दयी नगर है
सपनो का वहाँ न कोई बसर है
कितने सपने क़ुर्बान हुए
कुछ टूटे कुछ अनजान हुए
फिर भी है शौक कुछ जीने का
जीवन रस हरसू पीने का
मिल जाए सुकूँ तेरी पनाहों में
ले लें लुत्फ़ ज़रा उन राहों में
जहाँ देखे हम कल का दर्पण
न बिखरे ख्वाब जहाँ कण कण
सुन दास्तां-ए-ख़्वाब दिल हुआ द्रवित
शिथिल अस्तित्व व्यक्तित्व विस्मृत
थामे ऊँगली बढ़ता ही चला
ख्वाबो का संग ले वो काफिला
पहुँचा जब वो दिल की नगरी
खिल उठे ख्वाब भर आशा गगरी
नटखट हर पल छलकत ही जाये
बिन पिये ख़ुमार कैसा ये छाये
हर्षित मन की अब होगा पूरा
हर ख्वाब जो था कभी अधूरा
स्वतन्त्र परो से उन्मुक्त उड़ना
न टूटे अब कोई छन से सपना
है आज यहाँ और कल भी अपना
दिल की नगरी में बसेरा अपना
अब न कोई अंकुश न कोई शंका
दिल की नगरी में बसेरा अपना
~~~ Roman English Translation ~~~
Last night again some dreams appear
Removing thin sheets of sleep layer by layer
Slowly stealthy they came aboard
Knocking gently at my heart’s door
From the far away world here they came
Some scared, some timid, some half-tamed
Some strange emotion they personified
Slightly slenderly were they ungratified
In search of their destination
In search of some culmination
Slowly stealthily slowly stealthily
They came at my heart’s doorstep
The heart welcomed them tenderly
Showered love and affection incessantly
What’s the place from where you come
What’s the purpose for which you come
Tell me something O’ dear dreams
Tell me the reason why you have come
Dreams said from very far they came
Carrying that candle of hope to reclaim
A complete existence is what we aspire
Some desire within is what we desire
That world out is cruel & barren
The dreams there have no haven
So many dreams have been surrendered
Some broken some turned strangers
Still we long to live a bit more
To drink life’s nectar a little bit more
May you O’ Heart give us solace
May we have joy of your grace
May we stay alive to see tomorrow
Where none of us breaks away in sorrow
Their story of life moved the Heart
Weaker existence and forgettable part
Holding their fingers, the Heart moved ahead
Taking them along, He progressed
Until He reached His abode of peace
Beamed with hope & trust, those dreams
Crazier they went dancing here and there
What's this intoxication without liquor
Jubilant were they for being complete
All desires within that remained incomplete
Unleash the wings and fly freely
No dream now would break meekly
Today is here and so is tomorrow
Our abode is now in heart’s burrow
No constraint exist nor there is sorrow
Our abode is now in heart’s burrow
